From September 16th to 18th, more than 10,000 people, including Heartland Catfish Company, attended the Americas Food & Beverage Show & Conference in Miami Beach, FL. This show is an exclusive B2B event where attendees are looking for new and innovative products to source, add to their store shelves and impress their clientele. Exhibitors and sponsors are also looking to not only grow their business in the Western Hemisphere but also market to all the Americas and beyond.
Chef Demo Participation
Located in the Taste of States Pavilion section of the show, Heartland Catfish had the opportunity to showcase their flavor-consistent, high-quality U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish. This specific section featured only USA products and received support from the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) staff for the entirety of the show. In addition to supporting the Taste of States section, NASDA also organized a chef demonstration booth where a professional chef performed live cooking demos for show attendees. Pavilion exhibitors had the opportunity to donate their products to be included in the demonstration to promote the diverse variety of foods and beverages at the show.
While suggestions and recommendations for how your product would be prepared were highly considered, they were not guaranteed. Heartland Catfish had the pleasure of being featured in the chef demonstration at the show and surprisingly discovered a delicious new way to prepare their U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish. The chef prepared a catfish ceviche recipe that received outstanding reviews from other show attendees. The catfish was cooked with lime juice and served with finely chopped sweet Oregon onions, cilantro and avocado chunks.
Heartland Catfish annually attends the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago and the Seafood Expo North America in Boston, but this year decided to add the Americas Food & Beverage Show & Conference to this list. Regional Sales Manager, Linda Gwinn represented Heartland Catfish at the show and is already looking forward to attending next year.
“The show was extremely well managed, with every detail being covered, as well as follow-up from the staff. I am looking forward to next year and plan to serve our catfish in a variety of formats,” said Linda. She shared that she gained a vast amount of knowledge from the show as well as enjoyed industry networking.
